The church has two restoration projects:
The church roof is urgent need of repair and this will require in excess of £1,000,000 in total. The first phase - the chancel roof -was completed in December 2019. Work to repair the roof on the other 3 wings has not yet commenced.
The project to refurbish the mechanism for the 8 historic Ewhurst bells and to replace the 2 oldest bells, which date back to the 15th century was completed successfully in March 2018.
The Heritage Lottery Fund
awarded £26,300 of funding
(48% of cost) for the bells, plus
£200,000 (51%) towards the cost
of the first stage of the roof repair.
